Submersible Pumps

Sump pumps

There’s a few different kind of submersible pumps your home could have.

Sump pump

Sump pumps are a great solution for protecting your home from floods. Your sump pump should be in a crock and usually have pipes coming in which would be your footer.

Your footer pipe is collecting water from the outside perimeter of your home bringing it into the sump crock, then being pumped out to a storm drain or pond. If you find your pump not running, that could be an indication that your footer pipes aren’t working correctly.

Sewage pump

Sewage pumps are used to pump sewer water when gravity drains can no be used. Due to sewer gasses, these crocks have to be sealed and vented and use special pumps to grind up the paper and solids to discharge them.

Effluent pump

Effluent pumps are in between sump and sewage pumps. They are used for grey water. These can be used for sink or washing machine water and are also commonly used in septic pumps.

Battery backup pumps

Battery backups are just like a normal sump pump except they run off a charged batter for when the power goes out or the primary sump pump dies. These are NOT meant to be used as a primary pump and run daily but can offer peace of mind for those emergency situations to prevent flooding.
